Resolved Question: Why would Marines be in uniform at the mall?

There was 3 marines in dress uniform just walking around the mall, I think they were privates because when they took their jacket off they only had one ribbon I think it was red/brown or yellow not sure, why would they walk around the mall? there is no base in this city, are they allowed to be in uniform for no reason? I live in Pembroke pines,Fl close to Ft.Lauderdale. I'm sorry if im coming off as a jackass but I just wanted to know if there was a reason why they would be walking around in uniform in a public mall? Now that I think of it I saw a man with a "Marine recruiter" shirt. @ Honey badger, the man with the shirt wasnt with the Marines at the time I just remember seeing him walking by himself then later about 10 min later I saw the Marines, you just lost 10 pts..
